With a birthday so close to Christmas and during a busy season in general, my requests get more simple each year (partially because by the time my birthday rolls around each year I’m too exhausted to want to do anything special).
This year my I just wanted to stay in bed, watch TV, eat Totinos frozen pizza, and go out to dinner.
All of which happened (excellent job, boyfriend).
I’m a strong proponent of NOT having a TV in the bedroom (in fact, not having anything in the bedroom beside a bed and lamps…because things distract me when I’m trying to fall asleep) but I kind of half-begged/half-joked I wanted the TV put in our bedroom so I could lay in bed all day and catch up on TV shows (and sleep).
Wooooo that happened (it’s still in there but I’m moving back after work today).
I watched Jill and Jessa: Counting On (don’t just me) and took a nap. I woke up to my favorite pizza for lunch, watched Guys Grocery Games, and then fell back asleep. I’m pretty I woke up, watched something, and fell asleep for about 10 hours.
I finally woke up around 5, watched the 1989 tour live on Apple music and then got ready for THE MOST AMAZING DINNER OF 2015 at Blue Pointe.
It all started with some wine (which I was hesitant to get since I’m not a HUGE wine drinker…but don’t worry, we drank the whole bottle).
Then came the smoked PEI mussels (with the jalapeno tarter sauce…sweet mother of pearl).
Any place that has lobster bisque I basically have to have it. Blue Pointe specializes in seafood so the lobster bisque here was exceptionally good.
For my entree I got the dayboat scallops with carrots, snap peas, and a butternut squash puree with a truffle vinaigrette. Also not pictured was a HUGE side of lobster mashed potatoes I ordered.
And then I went to the bathroom and came back and the waitress brought me a creme brulee with a candle in it! I don’t even remember what I wished for I was so excited.
Whoa what a dinner. I had a seriously hard time making it through so many courses but it’s EXACTLY what I wanted. Quiet (we got the end booth in the corner!), multiple courses, and a restaurant I seriously love.
Big love to my boyfriend for making my birthday extra extra special!
