Nah, it’s okay, you don’t have to.

This is one thing I’ve learned recently.

In most general every day situations, I don’t have to explain myself. I don’t have to justify my actions to anyone if I don’t want to.

It’s as if someone is trying to undermine my ability to make sound decisions.

Why did you do that?!

Because. Do you not trust me to make an informed and reasonable decision?

In the past I’ve found it extremely frustrating, usually in text message, to try to succinctly express the “WHY” behind what I do.

I run errands on lunch because…
I bought XYZ because…
I like this website because…

Because I can. Because I said so. Because I’m not liable to, responsible for, or under the care of anyone. I am not tied to anyone. I don’t report (in every day life) to anyone.

I’m free to do what I want. To make my own decisions, however unwise or stupid they might seem to others.

So no. I won’t explain myself to you. I don’t have to.
