This has little to do with toilet paper apart from the fact that for my entire life…I’ve hung the toilet paper so it comes from under the roll. Not over the top. How does that even make sense? (except for toilet paper wasters!)

So I’ve lived in this flat for exactly 7 days, 6 nights.

Of those 7 days, I have vacuumed 9 times.

Of those 6 nights, Mr. Noisy Downstairs Neighbor has raved so loud I emailed to complain 4 nights.

You calculate the percentages on that.

I find with myself with a lot of time these days. And not in a bad way. All the way through high school and college I used to dream of the day when I could read books for fun! And then I started super commuting and dreamt of the day when I could just walk to work.

Here I am. A 5 minute walk away from work. Life has finally fallen into place.

So what have I been doing with my 8 hours of free time per day?

Still not reading.

I obsessively clean. When I got home from work today I worked out. And then scrubbed my floors within an inch of their life (Sherlock reference but I really did scrub them). And then I scrubbed the bathtub and the sink and the toilet. Did a load of laundry. Made dinner. Vacuumed. Hand washed dishes. Put on the dishwasher, etc. etc.

It’s all these little things that nag at my mind…In fact, I need to go fold laundry after I’m done with this.

It’s all leading up to the fact that I want to, without guilt, sit down in my little library and read. No work or chores to do. Just me. A glass of wine. And a good book. (And maybe ear plugs if Mr. Noisy Downstairs Neighbor is having another rave).

However you’ve spent your Friday night so far, I hope it’s been as productive and hopefully as rewarding as mine. Happy weekend!
