Was Independence Day.
If you didn’t get the chance to hear one of the most patriot and beautiful songs out there (in my opinion), listen to God Bless the USA by Lee Greenwood RIGHT NOW.
And I’m proud to be an American where as least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the USA
Every time I hear this song I tear up a little bit.
As far as 4ths of Julys go this years definitely had to be one of the better ones I’ve had. I was lucky enough to have gotten front row (behind first base) clubhouse tickets to the Indians game (against the Kansas City Royals…unfortunately we lost) which included a spectacular fireworks display afterwards…and in between as much free food as I could eat (so. many. hotdogs). My friend T and I then went to the Horseshoe Casino where I actually came out on top and won some money, and then we took a stroll up and down 6th street looking for fun places to stop before actually properly going out to a club for dancing (unfortunately there was little Beyonce to be heard).
Bang up job, America. I hope I celebrated you in the right way. The American way. (I mean, it doesn’t get any more American than baseball, right?)
