Pumpkins // I’ts just really no surprise I don’t particularly adore autumn but with all the new-found pumpkin love (long story but this is the first year I’ve ever tasted or touched pumpkin anything) I’m starting to enjoy it a little more. I’ve drank pumpkin beer, ate pumpkin pie, carved a pumpkin friend (okay, toasted the seeds while V carved the pumpkin), and baked pumpkin cookies. Haven’t had a pumpkin spice latte (PSL) yet. But rest assured when I do, I’ll be wearing brown boots, a cream infinity scar, and a hat. (How else can I become more basic white girl?)

Moving // In January I’ll have hit two years at my little place I call home. With just under 1,000 square feet it’s felt like a castle. My life has been through so many changes since moving there but it’s time to move again. To embark on a new adventure. I’ve been feeling “stuck” in recent months. By all accounts my life is on track. Stable job I enjoy. Money to pay the bills. Time with the ones I love. But I’m starting to get bored. Starting to not appreciate things like I used to. And I don’t want to become “that” person. Apathetic. Bored. Stuck. 2013 was a pretty tumultuous year for me in a sense. 2014 was going back to normal. Finding love. Finding stability. Finding the routine I hold so dear. I’m happy. I’m healthy. Time to shake things up in 2015 and dominate the world.
Castles // Last night V and I randomly started talking about the historic cost to build a castle. As in, what would it have cost in French Livre’s in 1682 to build the Palace of Versailles? Word on the street was that it was pretty cheap. Moreover, can we all just marvel at the level of craftsmanship that went into those things? Think about it. Every stone in that building was hand-laid. The paintings and tapestries were all hand-made. I’m sure every gold bar on the gates was hand-forged. With manufacturing, very few things have such a high level of individual care and detail put into them. And then think about the great pyramids of Giza. Egyptians literally rolled those stones on logs and then somehow managed to lift them high up into the sky to lay them. In 2550 B.C. Okay. / end rant
